Da Nang leaders, on Wednesday, visited and presented gifts to children at the Orphanage Centre and the Centre for Inclusive Education Development Support on the occasion of International Children's Day (June 1).

During his visit to the Orphanage Centre in Ngu Hanh Son District under the Da Nang Red Cross Society, Standing Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh acknowledged and commended the centre’s achievements in the past time. He also highly appreciated the spirit of dedication and responsibility of the centre's staff in caring for, nurturing and educating children. He added all efforts significantly contributed to the successful implementation of social security work in the city.

On the occasion, Mr. Vinh presented gifts, sent greetings and gave spiritual encouragement to the staff. He also wished the children there to always be healthy, well-behaved and have a joyful International Children's Day.
The Orphanage Centre was established in 1995. It is now home to 18 children who were abandoned by their parents, lacked guardians, and were in difficult and unfortunate circumstances.
At the Centre for Inclusive Education Development Support, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Council Doan Ngoc Hung Anh expressed his joy and praised the achievements of the teachers and pupils of the centre over the past school year.

Vice Chairman Anh emphasised that the city always paid special attention and had many policies to care for children in general and disadvantaged children in particular. He also took the opportunity to request the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Health to continue reviewing and proposing more policies to better care for staff, teachers and pupils at the centre.
On the occasion of International Children's Day (June 1), he wished all pupils good health to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies, thereby becoming useful citizens in the society. He voiced his hope that the centre will uphold the achieved results, and well care for and educate special children.
The Centre for Inclusive Education Development Support is educating pupils with special disabilities and supporting inclusive education. It has 292 pupils, divided into 28 classes, of which 60 are boarding pupils and 194 are semi-boarding ones. Moreover, the centre provides early intervention for 30 pupils with disabilities studying at inclusive schools in the city.
