On the afternoon of December 5, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh hosted a meeting with Argentinian Ambassador to Vietnam Marcos Antonio Bednarski, during which he expressed hope that the Ambassador would serve as a bridge to promote friendship and collaboration between Da Nang and Argentine partners.
Vice Chairman Minh recalled that Da Nang established a friendship relationship with Mar del Plata in 2022. Despite this promising start, he acknowledged that cooperation activities in recent years have yet to match the potential of both sides.
He, therefore, encouraged the Argentinian Ambassador to help advance the local-level partnership between Da Nang and Mar del Plata in a more substantive, long-term direction.
He also proposed that the Embassy of Argentina in Vietnam support efforts to connect businesses from the two localities, especially in sectors where both sides share strengths, such as tourism, services and technology.

Looking ahead, Vice Chairman Minh expressed hopes that Argentinian localities would participate in major international events scheduled to take place in Da Nang in 2026.
He also suggested that the Embassy of Argentina in Vietnam collaborate with the city to organize cultural and culinary exchange events that would introduce Argentine heritage to local residents and visitors.
Ambassador Bednarski thanked city leaders for their warm reception and congratulated Da Nang on its strong development momentum in recent years, particularly following the city’s administrative restructuring.
He emphasized the many similarities between Da Nang and Mar del Plata, both dynamic coastal cities with vibrant tourism sectors, and affirmed his commitment to strengthening cooperation across multiple fields.
The Ambassador expressed support for boosting ties between businesses and local governments, and also highlighted plans to expand cultural exchanges and promote educational partnerships between Argentine universities and the University of Da Nang.
During his visit, Ambassador Bednarski also held a working session with the Central Highlands branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to discuss Da Nang’s investment climate and explore opportunities for business cooperation between the two countries.
Da Nang is a favourite destination for Argentinians with its pristine beaches, and a community of 30 Argentinean dancers took part in performances to promote tourism at the Sun World Ba Na Hills Resort in Da Nang.
